If you think there are currently too many Spider-Men to keep track of, then wait until you get a load of Batman. The Dark Knight has been rebooted so many times that on occasion, different actors playing the role overlap. That's set to happen later this year as Robert Pattinson dons the black cape for the first time before Ben Affleck makes his final appearance as Gotham's protector.
As the trailers and synopsis for The Batman have revealed, Pattinson's Dark Knight movie will be very different from any that has come before it. It will also be longer than any that has come before it. Variety has learned that The Batman has a runtime two hours and 47 minutes without credits, although since it's a superhero movie you're probably going to want to sit through those too.

As for where The Batman's runtime stacks up compared to other DC and Marvel movies, it will be the third-longest so far. Only Avengers: Endgame (181 minutes) and Zack Snyder's Justice League (242 minutes) have it beat. That means The Batman will be the longest movie about the Dark Knight to date, just edging out Christian Bale's final appearance as The Bat in The Dark Knight Rises which runs for two hours and 45 minutes.
The Batman director Matt Reeves clearly has a lot of story to tell. There will certainly be a few familiar characters from Gotham played by famous faces making appearances in the movie. Colin Farrell as Penguin, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon. The assumption is The Riddler, played by Edward Nashton, will be the primary antagonist, and Pattinson will have to track him down via a Jigsaw killer-like hunt.
