Warning: Spoilers for Eternals #12!
The MCU hero and Eternals member known as Ikaris is an overpowered being akin to DC Comics’ Superman, and now Thanos has just revealed that Ikaris is a hero he wouldn’t mind battling it out with for eternity! Thanos and Ikaris may never have met in the movies, but in comics, their battles are always ones for the history books.
Revealed in Eternals #12, by Kieron Gillen and Esad Ribic, this series has followed the rise of Thanos as he wiggles his way into becoming the Prime Eternal of Earth, all while the Marvel superhero team called The Eternals do what they can to stop him. Finally becoming something more than his old self after using the Resurrection Engine, Thanos activates a “doomsday fail-safe” that will destroy the world unless his Prime Eternal role is revoked or he's killed entirely.

Arriving on Titanos to confront Thanos in the hopes of saving Earth from total annihilation, The Eternals clearly have their work cut out for them as they’re seemingly outmatched by this new and improved version of the Mad Titan. And as Ikaris and Thanos trade blows, Thanos reveals that this MCU hero is one of the few superheroes he truly enjoys fighting!
Immediately getting into it with Thanos the second he lays eyes on the guy, Ikaris rushes the MCU Big Bad with all his might. But after a well-placed headbutt by Thanos, Ikaris is left dazed and confused, prompting Thanos to say, “You are a delight, Ikaris. Leave now. Chase me forever. We can have this dance time and time over…Let us be eternal art,” telling fans that of all the beings Thanos has fought over the decades, Ikaris is one worthy of his fist’s attention.
