T-Mobile has today been experiencing an outage that affects the ability for some users to make calls, send texts or even use their internet data. T-Mobile is one of the main carriers in the United States so any downtime has the potential to affect a significant number of people. While this latest outage does also seem to be affecting plenty, it is not affecting everyone.
Consumers in the US don’t exactly have many choices when it comes to choosing a carrier. Although there used to be a ‘big four’ the choices were slimmed down following the merging of T-Mobile and Sprint. Dish is currently in the process of rolling out a fourth option, but in the meantime, T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon are the main options available. All three of these carriers have been working to expand their network in recent times, and especially in terms of 5G, but sometimes problems can arise, as is the case right now for many T-Mobile cellular customers.

The last few hours have seen a number of T-Mobile users taking to social media to report a problem with their service. In addition, Down Detector has also seen a spike of complaints citing similar issues, with the initial reports seemingly suggesting the problem first started around 12 PM ET. According to the reports, some users have been unable to make calls or send texts. Other users are reporting issues with using their data, forcing them to use Wi-Fi if they want to access the internet.
