Since launch, Stray has taken the world by storm, and it’s popularity continues to soar. Set in a neon city with cyberpunk vibes, the game allows you to play through the eyes of a cat. Stray is a must-have game for any cat owner, or just an animal lover in general. It’s only been out for a week, but modders are already hard at work adding their own content to the game. Mods offer a fun and new experience to games and unlock even more possibilities for fans. A recent Stray mod set out to do just that by allowing you to change your furry friend to either Garfield or a dog.
The Garfield mod was created by Chris Rubino, and it does exactly what it says on the tin. The mod simply replaces the regular Stray cat with a cartoon Garfield. For now, it’s just a skin, but the modding community could add quips from the films and various other effects in the future.
If you prefer a dog companion, mods have you covered as well. You can now play through the game as a dog from the beginning to the end with the Happy Puppy mod. The same modder behind the Garfield mod created a Stray mod that replaces the game’s ginger cat with a black and white French Bulldog. With this mod, the meowing is gone and is replaced with barking. Notably, the mod is in early development ,and Rubino hopes to add various skin colors for the puppies for even more customization.
If you want to check out the Stray Garfield or Happy Puppy mod, you can do so by visiting Nexus Mods. Considering how quickly we’ve sen mods for Stray appear, we can hopefully expect to see even more in the future.
