The final trailer for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin has been released and it has a surprisingly upbeat tone, comparable to that of a Disney film. Stranger of Paradise is an upcoming action RPG that will show a dark retelling of the story of the original Final Fantasy, which is apt, as it will launch during the 35th anniversary celebrations for the Final Fantasy franchise.
The story of Stranger of Paradise stars Jack Garland, who shares the name of the main villain of the original Final Fantasy. Jack's hatred of Chaos earned him memetic status in the Final Fantasy community, to the point where Square Enix seems to be actively avoiding the word Chaos in the trailers for the game. The fans have them covered, however, as nearly every social media post for the game is dominated by people sharing Jack's desire to kill Chaos and all those who are Chaos adjacent.

Stranger of Paradise is set to launch on March 18 and the fans who were worried about a last-minute delay can rest easy, as the final trailer for the game has been uploaded to the official Final Fantasy YouTube channel. This Stranger of Paradise trailer is surprisingly optimistic, showing a story that is more in line with a standard fantasy movie, than the dark reimagining of Final Fantasy that has been presented so far. The use of «My Way» by Frank Sinatra is also an odd choice for an action trailer and it may hold some secret significance about Jack's story and whether he can defy his fate.
One of the most interesting aspects of the trailer was its presentation of the villains of the original Final Fantasy. The Four Fiends are all here and they have striking redesigns that wouldn't be out of place in a horror game.
