Master of suspense John Carpenter took time out of his Horizon Forbidden West playthrough to call out the triumphant performance of Ashly Burch, the actress behind the game's main character Aloy. Horizon Forbidden West, from developer Guerrilla Games, acts as a sequel to the 2017 hit Horizon Zero Dawn, which saw massive success even after releasing within a week of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Both games featured open-world gameplay in a land littered with remnants of a world that had seen better days. Horizon not only managed to sell well against one of gaming's most prominent names, but it also created a fascinating new world with realistic graphics, unique gameplay, and returning characters that Horizon fans are excited to see again.
As games become more realistic and demanding, voice actors are gaining more popularity for their performances. Much of the stellar cast of voice talent featured in Horizon Zero Dawn returned for the sequel. Lance Reddick and JB Blanc, who play Sylens and Rost, can also be heard in huge franchises like Destiny 2 and Netflix's Arcane. Actress Ashly Burch, who plays Horizon Zero Dawn's main character Aloy, has not only returned for the sequel, but her performance has also managed to impress some big names.
