The most wishlisted game on Steam is Day Before, which sadly got delayed to 2023 thanks to a switch to Unreal Engine 5. The most wishlisted free-to-play game, however, is The Cycle: Frontier, from Spec Ops: The Line developer Yager. A sci-fi extraction shooter that takes place on a dynamic alien world, The Cycle: Frontier puts players in control of interstellar prospectors looking to make a quick buck or die trying.
The Cycle: Frontier shares similarities with the likes of Escape from Tarkov in that players drop onto the alien planet of Fortuna III, scrounge up resources, and then extract. The difference is that Frontier players will have to fend off attacks from both alien fauna and other prospectors looking to steal their loot. The terrain of Fortuna itself can also prove hazardous as radioactive storms occasionally blow through, forcing players to find cover.

In between runs, players return to Prospect Station to cash-in their loot and upgrade their gear. Prospectors can also take on contracts from various factions to increase their reputation and unlock more gear options.
With persistent maps and “near-instant” matchmaking, players can drop to Fortuna alone or in groups to scout out resource-rich areas, including a newly-added dungeon that’s full of both terrifying alien creatures and lucrative loot. Just beware of your surroundings when you exit the dungeon as a hostile prospector team could easily set an ambush at your extraction.
