Starfox's introduction in the MCU through Eternals promises an exciting future for Harry Styles’ character, but it also raises questions about Thanos' background. Although already confirmed to be the Mad Titan's brother just like in the comics, more of the relationship between Eros and Thanos is still a mystery. By bringing new elements and characters to the franchise, Eternals organically expands the universe and lays down the path for even more worldbuilding to be made.
A film that embraces the cosmic side of the MCU, Eternals revisited well-known concepts in the franchise such as the six singularities and the Snap while also adapting a still-unexplored corner of the Marvel universe. The Celestials and their creations, Eternals and Deviants, were finally properly introduced and explained in the MCU. Accordingly, Eros' appearance even if in a post-credits scene was not completely unexpected.

Despite exploring much of the Eternals’ lore, the Eternals film preferred not to delve into either Eros or Thanos. Contrary to what many expected, the film did not address Thanos’ background and did not even confirm if the Avengers villain’s origins in the MCU are similar to the comics. Questions such as whether Thanos is an Eternal in the franchise and how much he knew of the Celestials' plans remain unanswered. The introduction of Starfox, however, makes it essential for the MCU to address at least some of Thanos' background in the future.
