At the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Bethesda finally pulled the curtain back on its incredibly ambitious open world sci-fi RPG Starfield, showing off gameplay for the first time and confirming various features that fans have to look forward to come launch next year. There's quite a bit of buzz surrounding Starfield since its reveal, with some fans excited for what the game has to offer and others worried that Bethesda won't be able to deliver on all its promises. There are also plenty of questions about Starfield since the gameplay trailer dropped, though one of those questions has now been answered.
One of the features that Bethesda revealed at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase was Starfield's character creation tools. Like Bethesda's other big open world RPGs, Starfield players will be able to create their own character from scratch. However, Bethesda didn't reveal if the Starfield protagonist would be voiced or not. Most of Bethesda's games do not feature voiced protagonists, though the exception to that rule is Fallout 4.
Some Gamers Aren't Happy With Starfield's 1000+ Planets
Bethesda has now confirmed that Starfield will not have a voiced protagonist, and that all the conversations in the game will be first-person. This is in line with the majority of Bethesda's games, including Skyrim, and so it's not a huge surprise. So far, the confirmation that Starfield will not have a voiced protagonist has generated a mixed response online.
