The release of Starfield is fast-approaching, which promises to deliver an entire galaxy to explore. That's some pretty ambitious scope from developer Bethesda, and given the size of the title, many have been expecting an absolute behemoth of a download to come with it. Turns out we were right to expect as much, as the official file sizes for Starfield on Xbox and PC have been released, and they're pretty hefty.
First shared by Mattmo831 on ResetEra, the store listings for Starfield now give us accurate file sizes for both platforms. Starfield will be a 139.84GB download on PC, while the Xbox version of the game will be a slightly smaller 126.1GB download. It's not clear if this will be the file size for the Xbox Series S version of the game too, but we can probably assume as much or around the same.

Considering how big games are getting these days, this means you might want to make some room on your platform of choice, especially if you're planning to play on Xbox Series S. A single Call of Duty or Forza game with Starfield on top could easily push your system's storage close to full, so now is the perfect time to delete all of those games you have installed that you were planning to get around to at some point but never have.
If you have a subpar internet connection and you're worried about having to wait all day for Starfield to actually download, you don't need to fear. Bethesda announced earlier today that Starfield has now gone gold and that pre-loads will begin tomorrow, giving you plenty of time to get the thing downloaded onto your Xbox or PC, primed and ready for release day on September 6 next month.
