Stardew Valley and gun violence - absolutely not a combination I saw myself writing about today. But here we are, it's 2022, and it's absolutely a thing.
Twitch streamer Apelordmoz was forced to end his Stardew Valley stream early this Monday, as he heard a gunfight taking place outside. The heavy gunfire can be heard on stream, prompting Apelordmoz to leave his PC and gather his roommates to take shelter in the basement. None of them were hurt in the violence, but someone outside was said to be shot in the leg.

“I was just chilling, playing Stardew Valley, and all of a sudden I hear gunshots. I stopped stream, grabbed my roommates, and called 911 once we were in the basement", said Apelordmoz, speaking to Dexerto. The gunshots are so loud that they can be heard on stream, and are also going off in quick succession.
Apellordmoz reacts quickly, telling his viewers what is happening before he puts his "be right back" overlay on the stream. He can then be heard informing his roommates that they should get to safety, as the gunfire continues.
Apellordmoz also spoke about the incident on Twitch. He says he was initially unaware of what was happening, wondering if it was a drive-by or a full-on gang fight. Thankfully, he has since returned to streaming Stardew Valley.
This isn't the only time we've seen a Twitch stream take a surprisingly dangerous turn. Last August, streamer girl__fighter had her stream forcibly ended by a neighbour who had broken into her house.
