One of the biggest accomplishments in Stardew Valley is completing the full Museum collection. The local Museum, housed inside the Library, is missing a ton of stuff, leaving its displays empty. Gunther, the curator, will tell you that the former curator made off with all of the items.

So, by mining, exploring, and more, you can find a ton of items that serve as valuable additions to the Museum's collection. They're split into two groups: Minerals and Artifacts. Minerals are typically found in the various mines or by cracking open Geodes, whereas Artifacts are found in a number of ways, including from "artifact spots" — those little wiggling sticks you see in the dirt in various places.
