Ahead of the launch of the latest Star Wars: The Old Republic expansion, BioWare has released a brand-new Legacy of the Sith story trailer. The teaser presents the perspective from both the Galactic Republic and the Jedi, and the Empire and the Sith, hinting at a number of story beats and updated gameplay that players of the MMO will get to experience when the expansion launches next month.
The video also hinted at some of the new locations players will visit and even showed off some new characters that are yet to be introduced. As the video synopsis reads, «The war between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire spreads to new worlds! Dangerous threats rise in the dark corners of the galaxy and Darth Malgus pursues an unknown plan.»
Star Wars The Old Republic: Legacy of the Sith--which will be a free update to all subscribers--is set to launch on February 15 and will feature new combat styles, new locations, and brand-new story content that will task the player with uncovering Darth Malgus' plans.
In November, BioWare confirmed that the new locations that will appear in Legacy of the Sith include the underwater facilities on the planet of Manaan, the ruined Sith fortress on Elom, and the R-4 Anomaly, which is set to arrive in early 2022. The level cap will also be raised from 75 to 80, and new challenging co-op missions will be added as well.
The eighth expansion was originally set to launch on December 14, but it was delayed because the team needed more time and additional testing on many areas.
Earlier this week, EA announced that Respawn Entertainment is working on three Star Wars titles, including a sequel to the hit Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a first-person shooter, and a strategy game.
