After the groundbreaking success of both Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor, we're getting another single-player Star Wars game. Only this time, it's coming to us courtesy of Ubisoft, developed by Massive Entertainment, Star Wars: Outlaws is billed as the first open-world game in the series, and was revealed to a whole lot of buzz at the Xbox Games Showcase last night.
Now, just a day later, the devs have shown off the kind of gameplay we can expect in Outlaws, and it's pretty unique from the other games in the series. Unlike the Soulsborne-esque Star Wars Jedi series, Outlaws will focus on third-person blaster fights, making the most of its open-world environments. It even lets you control that adorable little guy that follows you around, as he helps you find items and fight enemies.

This extended look at the gameplay comes from tonight's Ubisoft Forward event, following on from yesterday's Xbox Games Showcase. As seen in the trailer below, Star Wars: Outlaws is already incredibly far ahead in development, despite only being revealed yesterday, suggesting that it's very much on track for its planned 2024 release.
We don't have a specific release date for Star Wars: Outlaws just yet, but it's planned for some time in 2024. Whether that's early or late 2024 remains to be seen. It will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, seemingly skipping the Nintendo Switch and last-gen altogether.
