Most of the footage we’ve seen of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor thus far has focused on combat and traversal, which makes sense for an action-adventure game, but what about those looking for a mental workout? Well, it seems Survivor will also have a greater emphasis on puzzle solving.
In a new IGN Fan Fest video, we get a first look at a “Jedi meditation chamber,” a puzzle room that tests your Force skills and very much resembles the shrines from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Much like in BOTW, it seems these meditation chambers will be optional, although there will be some puzzle solving incorporated into Survivor’s core campaign as well. Completing meditation chambers should earn you perks, a new system that allows you to alter main character Cal’s playstyle. You can check out the new footage for yourself, below.
The lifting from BOTW is a bit shameless, but hey, if you’re making an action-adventure game, may as well steal from the best! Haven’t been keeping up with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor? Here’s an official description…
“Picking up five years after Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Jedi: Survivor is a third person, narrative-driven action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC."
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 on April 28.
