Star Wars features some of the most iconic and universally acclaimed bad guys in movie and television history, and the Inquisitors have made their claim to join the likes of the Fetts, Darth Vader, and Star Wars game regular Darth Maul as the iconic symbols of the dark side in George Lucas's beloved world.
The Inquisitors were first introduced to Star Wars canon with the Star Wars Rebels animated series, which showed protagonists Ezra Bridger and Kanan Jarrus being hunted down by the Grand Inquisitor and the other Jedi hunters in his employ. Founded by Darth Sidious and his apprentice, Darth Vader, following the creation of the Empire, the Inquisitorius pulled its ranks from Jedi who had turned to the dark side of the Force, with the Grand Inquisitor having previously been a Jedi Temple guard. They have since gone on to feature regularly across various Star Wars media, with Inquisitors featuring in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and the Kenobi series on Disney+.
