The lead of Star Wars' upcoming Andor series, Diego Luna, has revealed he didn't think he'd return as Cassian Andor. The spy-thriller show will follow its titular character through the early beginnings of the Rebellion, in both the greater galaxy as well as the Imperial Senate. Returning along with Luna will be Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma, and joining them will be Stellan Skarsgård as Rebel leader Luther Rand, as well as Adria Arjona in an unidentified role. The story takes place just five years before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Luna made his Star Wars and Cassian debut in 2016's Rogue One, where his character was met with incredible reception. The movie provided some hints as to Cassian's backstory, but not many. A fiery statement delivered by a frustrated Cassian to Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) told viewers that he's "been in this fight since I was six years old," something that has long since made audiences curious as to exactly what Cassian had to do for the Rebellion effort. Aside from that detail, as well as the "prison" Chirrut Îmwe (Donnie Yen) claimed Cassian kept himself trapped within, viewers weren't able to learn much about Cassian's background. The new Andor show now provides the opportunity for viewers to have their curiosity satisfied, and to learn more about the Rebellion intelligence captain whose efforts ultimately helped to take down the Empire.

However, Luna has revealed that he didn't think he would ever get a chance to tell more of Cassian's story. The actor spoke to Entertainment Weekly (via Star Wars News Net) about making the most of his Rogue One opportunity and never expecting more. Luna even prepared himself
