Today, Sony held a livestreamed State of Play presentation to reveal new titles and updates for games coming to PlayStation platforms, with most of the titles shown coming from Japanese developers and publishers. Square Enix showed up at the event with some titles of its own, and one of those games is called The DioField Chronicle, a brand-new strategy RPG that uses a real-time tactical battle combat system. It looks very similar to the Fire Emblem series, with battle scenarios viewed from a top-down perspective.
According to Square Enix, The DioField Chronicle will have a «fresh and gritty story» that takes players on a «journey of honor and political intrigue.» The reveal trailer shown during the State of Play for March 2022 opens with an overhead view of what seems to be the world's map, with named locations like Central Field, East Field, and Nonderan Mountains --dragons can be seen flying around the world as well.
