Originally released for the PlayStation 4 in 2018, Marvel’s Spider-Man finally arrived on PC on August 12. The remastered port proved to be a big hit with PC gaming fans, becoming Sony’s second biggest launch on Steam.
However, few ports are perfect, and the PC release of Marvel’s Spider-Man is no exception. Fortunately, the first patch is available now, introducing several bug fixes and visual improvements.
Spider-Man PC Modder Removes Pride Flags, Gets Banned
The patch upgrades Marvel’s Spider-Man to Version 1.817.1.0 and includes many graphics-related improvements. This includes fixing ray-tracing-related crashes and another ray-tracing bug that caused reflections on stainless steel to appear distorted. Developers also fixed an issue that caused Spider-Man’s side-mission popups to appear stretched out on widescreen resolution. More graphics-related fixes include preventing game freezes when players switch graphics settings during cutscenes, along with addressing various unnamed visual glitches.
Spider-Man also received visual improvements related to the HBOA+ and Nvidia DLSS graphics software. Meanwhile, non-graphics-related improvements include one that makes the game better at checking which version of Windows players are using, preventing false positives. Developers also report fixing some stability issues when players Alt-Tab out of the game.
Insomniac and Nixxes published the patch notes for Spider-Man’s version 1.817.1.0 alongside a joint statement describing it as a “first small patch.” However, the developers reported that they are already working on a more substantial patch that should address some of the feedback they have received from players.
