One of the new Snapchat+ features is 'Friend Solar Systems' that categorizes Snapchat friends based on how often they interact on the platform. In late June 2022, Snap launched a new subscription service called Snapchat+ with «exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features» for subscribers. Some of the notable new features include Ghost Trails that makes it possible to check the location history of friends for the past 24 hours, the ability to change the app icon, see who re-watched a story, and pin a friend to the top of a chat history as a 'BFF.'
Announcing the launch of Snapchat+, Snap said that the new service would cost $3.99 per month and be available at launch in the U.S., Canada, the U.K, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The company also said it plans to expand the service to more markets in the future but didn't offer any timeline for the expansion. The new service is an attempt for Snap to diversify its revenue sources, which is heavily dependent on ads at the moment.
