For dedicated players, it comes as no surprise that almost all characters who have swords find themselves within the highest tiers of the game's roster. Their massive, disjointed hitboxes can deny the moves and projectiles of much of the rest of the cast, and thus prevent them from ever getting near them. But one DLC character who has zero approach options has found a way to solve this issue: Kazuya Mishima.
As Tekken's representative for the Switch title, Kazuya joined the game as a port of the Smash Ultimate's Fighters Pass Vol. 2. Compared to the first DLC pass, Vol. 2 has been notorious for introducing overpowered characters, and Kazuya is no exception. His moves strike with shocking power and intensity, dealing massive damage and enough hit stun to lead into even more powerful strikes. This has led to the likes of Team Liquid's Riddles becoming a regular top four contender in major tournaments, and other top players have followed suit by making him a secondary, such as Revo's Tea and even the world's best Steve, Acola.
