Skybound Entertainment has launched a Republic crowdfunding campaign for the development and marketing of a new AAA game based on Invincible.
Republic is an investment platform that allows users to invest in everything from video games to startup companies and real estate.
Skybound Entertainment is seeking a minimum of $50,000 for the project and maximum of $5 million. It has already secured over $440,000. Investors can anticipate perks and rewards ranging from discounted merchandise to behind-the-scenes access and experiences.
This campaign marks Skybound Entertainment’s second foray into a public equity offering, having previously raised $18 million from more than 6,000 investors in 2023.
According to Skybound Entertainment, the Invincible game will be developed under the direction of a new in-house 30-person studio made up of notable industry veterans from Activision, Amazon Games, Blizzard Entertainment, and Electronic Arts, as well as Invincible creator Robert Kirtman himself.
“We are thrilled to launch this Regulation Crowdfunding campaign on Republic, inviting fans to join us on this new expansion and venture,” said Skybound Entertainment CEO David Alpert in a press release. “At Skybound, we prioritize fostering meaningful connections with our audience, and this initiative allows fans to not only immerse themselves in the world of Invincible but also to directly contribute to its expansion.”
The crowdfunding campaign will close on April 29.
