Just a few months before its release, Ubisoft has confirmed that Skull and Bones won't be making its previous November release date and has instead been delayed until March 9, 2023. On a happier note, it also confirmed that an open beta "ahead of the game's worldwide launch".
Despite a pretty dry year so far, the last few months of 2022 look stacked with new releases, including Sonic Frontiers, God of War Ragnarok, The Callisto Protocol, High on Life, and more. Up until less than half an hour ago, Ubisoft's Skull and Bones was also part of this list, with an intended release date of November 8. That's not the case anymore, however, as the game has now been delayed until March.

A statement on Ubisoft's website reads, "Ahoy there, privateers. Our team is hard at work polishing and balancing the experience ahead of the worldwide launch. As a result, we’ve made the tough decision to move our release date to March 9, 2023. We’re very eager for you all to get your hands on Skull and Bones and dive in headfirst to the dangerous and exciting world of building your own pirate empire. To give you the best possible experience we’ve decided to take a little more time to make sure we can deliver exactly that."
The statement continues, revealing that an open beta will be held for the game before its launch. It says, "For the most eager of you, we are also very happy to announce that we will hold an open beta of the game in the near future. We’ll share more news on how you can sign up to register soon, so keep your spyglasses trained on our social media for more news and announcements."
