Nintendo has delayed the physical release of Bayonetta for Switch in Europe at the last minute.
Originally scheduled to be released today, it’s now planned for release in the first half of next month.
“We are now aiming to release the physical edition of Bayonetta in the first half of October, exclusively on My Nintendo Store,” Nintendo said on Friday. “Please stay tuned for more info. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
Nintendo of America hasn’t announced plans to delay today’s Switch release for the physical version of Bayonetta.
While a digital version of Bayonetta launched for Switch alongside Bayonetta 2 in 2018, plans for a physical release were announced in July, when Nintendo dated Bayonetta 3.
Blaming “unforeseen logistical challenges”, Nintendo also recently delayed the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector’s Edition beyond the game’s release in July.
Developer by Platinum Games, Bayonetta 3 will be released as a Switch exclusive on October 28.
Nintendo recently published seven minutes of Bayonetta 3 gameplay, showing off various locations and new combat options that will debut in the sequel.
