Tesla's Model Y and 3 were the two top-selling EVs in the US for 2021, but selling for $59,900 and $43,400, respectively, after tax incentives, they are not exactly the cheapest cars around. Polestar announced that its Polestar 2, priced at $45,900 but selling for as low as $33,400 after tax exceptions, has arrived in the U.S. The single-engine Polestar 2 can charge 80% in 40 minutes and drive 270 miles when fully charged. With a sleek and elegant design, the model is agile with 408 horsepower. Polestar says the car brings performance for the post-gasoline era, and it can hit 0 to 60 in around 4.5 seconds.
The Polestar 2 single-engine model is the lowest-priced vehicle in the Polestar lineup. It is also the longest and fits right into the American taste for long luxury cars. The company managed to keep the price low by using just one engine.
