Simon Pegg reveals of the many of his and Edgar Wright's movie characters, the one he wants to reprise most is Gary King from The World's End. After working together on the short-lived comedy series Asylum, Wright and Pegg would reunite for the hit British sitcom Spaced, on which the latter was co-creating, co-writing and co-starring with Jessica Stevenson and on which the former would direct all 14 episodes. Thanks to the show's success, the duo would bring their talents to the big screen alongside friend and frequent collaborator Nick Frost for the zombie romantic comedy spoof Shaun of the Dead.
The film would go on to receive critical acclaim and was a financial hit, leading Pegg and Wright to plan out a trilogy of comedies tied together solely by their style and the inclusion of the British ice cream Cornetto. The Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy would first continue with the buddy cop action comedy Hot Fuzz, which received similar critical and commercial success thanks to its lampooning of its respective subgenres. The trilogy would close out in 2013 with the sci-fi action comedy The World's End and though the trio have largely moved away from each other to work on their own respective projects, many are still calling for Wright, Pegg and Frost to come back together.
