Borderlands 3 was a huge success for 2K Games and developer Gearbox Games. The game successfully became the fastest selling game yet for Gearbox, with it reaching nearly 14 million copies sold by the end of 2021. However, impressive sales don't necessarily indicate that a game is without flaws.
Borderlands 3 had more than its fair share of glitches and performance issues when it launched, and unfortunately, some of those things still linger in the game. Thankfully, in this particular instance, the player was able to get a good laugh out of it, but the shared clip demonstrates how even if it's funny, glitches during a cutscene can completely undermine the storytelling of the game. As shared by Redditor Walusqueegee, the video demonstrates a cutscene clip from Borderlands 3's Bounty of Blood DLC. The scene shows Butcher Rose in a showdown with the sheriff, in what should be a tense and possibly even shocking moment. However, the mood of the cutscene is completely ruined by the presence of a floating gun. As mentioned, the player manages to get a laugh out of it as the gun goes dancing across the scene in various shots like a ghost, but it also shows how much it's distracting from a memorable moment in the game.
Unfortunately, this is anything but a new problem. Players have been mentioning and complaining about floating guns in their cutscenes since the game's debut back in 2019, and the bug remains.
