The original creators for the Silent Hill series, Bokeh Game Studio, shared their own celebration for the 26th anniversary of Resident Evil, commenting specifically on how the Capcom hit originally inspired some of the survival horror genre. This also came along with an announcement to watch out for something from the Bokeh YouTube channel, where the developer has a surprise for Resident Evil fans in store.
This comes as the original Resident Evil celebrates stepping past the first quarter-century since release all the way back in March 1996 for the original PlayStation console. With the franchise launching as a powerhouse for developer Capcom, and continuing strong as recently as last year's Resident Evil Village, the occasion is certainly something for the gaming industry to want to celebrate.

Originally posted to the Bokeh Game Studio Twitter account, the Silent Hill developer shared an image of the original Japanese covers for both its own title and Resident Evil. The post went on to comment that Resident Evil stands as an inspiration to Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama for developing the classic name in the survival horror genre. So, even though the games host different settings and themes for the dread both inspire, they do share some DNA from how they've impacted and been impacted by classic gaming horror.
Bokeh Game Studio also announced that something will be coming to the developer's YouTube channel that fans, likely something both Silent Hill and Resident Evil will enjoy. This YouTube channel has previously been used to share Q&A's with the developer, as well as reveals for upcoming titles like Slitterhead that the studio is currently working on.
