While the standard playthrough of Silent Hill 2 is expected to take between 16 and 18 hours, Bloober Team has announced that for the completionists out there, it will take more than 20 hours "to find everything that the team put into the game and things we've hidden for you."
Silent Hill recently received a story trailer that shows players some of the game's most iconic characters, such as Eddy and Mary. In terms of playtime, Mateusz Lenart, the Creative Director and Lead Designer of Silent Hill 2, postedabout how many secrets are hidden away in the corners of the game.
In the tweet, he used a string of emojis that all refer to the six endings of Silent Hill 2 while teasing the audience, saying there will be "no spoilers—not even through emojis." In a series of other posts on X, he spoke about some of the proudest moments he has experienced since working on Silent Hill 2.
Initially, diehard fans of Silent Hill 2 were worried about the game being in the hands of Bloober Team, feeling that they could very easily do the franchise a disservice. While they have made successful games such as the Layers of Fear franchise, they also made games such as Blair Witch and The Medium, which weren't quite as successful.
However, previews of Silent Hill 2 have been popping up, with journalists getting to experience the first couple of hours of the game. So far, words have been incredibly optimistic about the first couple hours of the game, with some even detailing the new content appearing in Silent Hill 2. Whether that means there will now be additional endings to obtain is unknown. From the previews, it all sounds very positive, with Unreal Engine 5 being a real asset to the game's overwhelming dark atmosphere.
