The will be coming to as the next collaboration with Universal Games and Products. Announced during today’s Nintendo Direct Indie World Showcase, players got a look at a couple of familiar locations that seem to have been mysteriously covered in gold, pink, and blue paint.
The Shrek Special Pack DLC will be coming to PowerWash Simulator at some point “in the not too far, far away future”, otherwise translated as fall 2024. Neither publisher Square Enix nor developer FuturLab have announced a more specific release date at the time of writing.
Seeing as there’s unlikely to ever be enough detergent in the world to wash an entire swamp, the Shrek Special Pack will feature five locations from the Shrek Universe. As seen in the trailer, these will include Shrek’s Swamp, which has been covered in three different colors of sparkly paint. Seeing as pink, blue, and gold don’t seem to be Shrek’s favorite colors, players get to make sure his home gets restored to a more natural appearance.
Dragon’s Lair is the second confirmed location. While it can’t be seen in the DLC pack’s official trailer, there were brief glimpses of this map shown during the Nintendo Direct Indie World Showcase. The three other locations remain a closely guarded secret for now, but we did see the new knight-themed character outfit that players will be able to wear.
The DLC pack supports up to two players during the mini-campaign in online co-op, or up to six players in Free Play. No price was announced for the premium DLC. However, all of the previous PowerWash Simulator DLC packs, like Back to the Future, have been priced at $7.99, so it’s fairly safe to assume that this will be the cost of the upcoming expansion pack.
