Bill Arcus sinks an impossible shot. The snooker table swallows up the heavy red ball and his slight stoop straightens, just a little. John pretends he didn’t see it, but the table doesn’t lie.
He’s kidding, of course.
They do a lot of that, those Arcus brothers. Their banter would put the Two Ronnies to shame.
They’re playing a few rounds at the Ballroom Pool and Snooker Lounge. It’s 100 years ago next month that Percy Tremaine opened the Victory Billiard Saloon in Courtenay Place in 1921.
