Nintendo made a lot of announcements at the February 2022 Nintendo Direct, but the reveal of a huge paid expansion to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was one of the highlights. Over the next several months, players will be treated to 48 additional courses which have been lifted from previous Mario Kart games and remastered. It definitely hit the nostalgia mark for a lot of players.

The DLC, officially dubbed the «Booster Course Pass,» will release its first batch of courses on March 18. Not everything is coming out all at once though, and there is more than one way to get the expansion.

When players buy the initial expansion pass for $25, they will automatically receive new courses as soon as they become available. The announcement in today's Nintendo Direct indicated that the Booster Course Pass is all-inclusive; there are no complicated tiers or individual course purchases. It's a one-time transaction that literally doubles the number of courses in the game.
