Marvel's Shang-Chi is now so hated within the Marvel Universe, even Marvel's worst heroes call him out. The Master of Kung-Fu has perhaps made the worst decision of his life when he decided to keep, rather than destroy, his evil father's criminal empire. He has alienated both his close friends in the form of the Avengers and his family, and now in Shang-Chi #10, the character is one of the most hated heroes.
In the previous comic arc, Shang-Chi vs the Marvel Universe, Shang-Chi decided to keep his father's old criminal empire — the Five Weapons Society — and reshape them into a force for good. Unfortunately, Shang-Chi's family is highly traditional and frowns against him teaming up with the likes of Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, and other Avengers. They view appeasement as a sign of weakness, and Shang-Chi must battle them all, from Wolverine to Thor himself.

In the aftermath of fighting the God of Thunder, Shang-Chi's mother reveals herself, along with Shang-Chi's grandfather, thus kicking off a new story arc in Shang-Chi #10. Deadly Sabre, Shang-Chi's brother, is guarded by the Guardsmen — a rather weak group of guards armed with rifles (weapons Shang-Chi can easily dismantle within seconds). When Shang-Chi and his family attack the Guardsmen to free Deadly Sabre, one of the defeated guards mockingly says «What happened to...a force for good?» as the family escapes.
