CI Games and Hexworks have released a chunky 20 minute gameplay video for their upcoming Souls-like action RPG Lords of the Fallen.
A full reboot of the dark fantasy action RPG, Lords of the Fallen takes place in a semi-open world – each area is interconnected with at least two others – where you’ll battle on a quest to overthrow the demon god Adyr.

You’ll have an Umbral Lamp to let you cross between world at any time, but you can also be transported in a less intentional fashion. If you’re in the living realm and die, you’re automatically resurrected in the exact same spot over on the undead plane.
Battling in this game has a combat system that aims to emphasise fluidity, letting you mix together melee, magic and ranged combat. With the standard attacks, you can also map up to four magic and ranged skills to buttons for instant use, allowing for greater strings of combos and faster combat in general.

You can invite a second player to join your game by visiting a vestige rest point, where you can choose to invite a friend or stranger to join you. You’ll then be able to play together as long as you like. Oh, and you can also craft and place your own vestiges in select places in the world, adding new checkpoints for yourself, though limited by needing a rare resource to do so.
