After a rough start at launch, Sea of Thieves has been firing on all cylinders as of late. Thanks to continued updates, new content, and a move to seasonal content, Sea of Thieves has been enjoying a resurgence with players on Xbox and PC. In fact, Rare has even teased that 2022 could be the biggest year yet for Sea of Thieves with the amount of content being planned behind the scenes, which includes plenty of new PvE style activities as well.
The push for PvE content really began last year when Rare and Disney announced a special Tall Tales expansion called A Pirate's Life, which combined characters and other elements from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. This year, Sea of Thieves is getting an influx of more character and lore-focused content through Adventures and Mysteries like Forts of the Forgotten. However, Rare has even bigger plans in mind, giving players a new look at a brand-new Athena's Fortune Voyage for Pirate Legends launching on April 21.

Known as Legend of the Veil, this Voyage will have players finally interacting with the Ancients, a civilization that has been referenced and touched on throughout the past inside the game's various bits of lore. Legend of the Veil features three chapters prior to getting to the finale, and Rare hopes to keep players coming back through the use of dynamic missions. Each time a crew selects Legend of the Veil, the first two mission chapters will be mixed between combat and puzzles while the third remains the cinematic set piece finale.
