The Rose family massively changed as people throughout Schitt’s Creek, but it wasn’t until Alexis’s ending that it was clear that she had changed more than her brother, David. Schitt’s Creek follows the Roses as they're uprooted from their lavish, and extremely expensive, lifestyle and are forced to live in the small town Schitt's Creek, that patriarch Johnny had once bought for David as a joke. While each of the four family members experienced their own personal journey, Alexis and David, who had always been rich, were particularly influenced by the town and their new life.
Alexis (Annie Murphy) and David (Dan Levy) have a typical sibling relationship despite differing quite heavily in their personalities. Alexis frequently tells stories of impulsive travels and her carefree lifestyle, with an endless supply of friends and boyfriends. David is shown to be much more reserved, revealing later in the show that he was often at home worrying about her, and his so-called friends didn’t care about him.

As the seasons developed, David seemed to change the most as he grew meaningful relationships with Patrick (Noah Reid) and Stevie (Emily Hampshire) and built a strong business. However, Alexis’s biggest change came at the very end of the show's run, and it provided her with the most character growth. She had already taken massive leaps in her personal and work life, including having meaningful relationships and finishing high school.
