Do you prefer travelling by road? The frustrating part about it is that you need to make payments on toll plazas. Earlier these payments were made via cash but now you do not need to stop your vehicle for making payments. With the help of FASTag you can make the payments without any hassle and there is no need to stop your vehicle. FASTag is a device that employs Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for making toll payments directly from the prepaid or savings account linked to the car owner. It is affixed on the windscreen of your vehicle and enables you to drive through toll plazas without stopping for cash transactions. If you have been using the same, then you would also know that you will have to recharge your FASTag. We take a look at the SBI YONO FASTag recharge process here.
Not just SBI, the tag can be purchased from other issuers and if it is linked to the prepaid account, then you need to recharge/ top up the tag as per your requirement. The customers of State Bank of India (SBI) can recharge the FASTags using YONO App. It can be noted that the system is inter-operable and the same SBI FASTag can be used across all toll plazas under the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) program.
