It is less than a week before Samsung unveils the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 devices to the world. While the Flip 4 is largely expected to remain unchanged, it is the Fold 4 that will be getting a lot more changes this year. A wider Cover Display could result in a more practical display, and the same could be applied for the Main Display. Samsung won't be changing the design of the phone this year, unlike the previous generations of Fold devices. However, the phone will be stronger than the Fold 3 from last year.
Based on a tip from tipster Ahmed Qwaider, it is said that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will get Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on both front and rear, i.e. the Cover Display and the rear panel. The phone will use the newer and more power efficient Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. This should help keep the phone cool and calm compared to the Galaxy S22 models. The main display is also said to have a higher peak brightness of 1000 nits and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Samsung is also doing something about the charging speeds. No, the leak does not speak about a faster 45W charger or a smaller battery. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is said to have a similar 4400mAh capacity battery and the same 25W charging. Samsung will, however, tune the charging accordingly to allow the same charger to fill up the battery to 50 percent in 30 minutes – the Fold 3 can only do up to 33 percent charge in the same time.
Note that these are just leaked specifications and you should wait until the official announcement from Samsung on these devices. Note that Samsung has so far teased only the Flip 4 in its teasers and not spoken much about the Fold 4.
The Flip 4, on the other hand, is said to have the same Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, a bigger 3700mAh
