Samsung has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 for India. The new model comes with a larger 10.5-inch TFT display with 16:10 aspect ratio. The tablet is also equipped with a 7040 mAh battery with upto 15W fast-charging like its predecessor Tab A7. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is a sub-Rs. 20,000 tablet with a starting price of INR 17,999. It will be available for purchase in stores and online from January 17th.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 also comes with a 2 GHz octa-core processor offering 10 percent boosts in CPU and GPU performance. Although the company did not disclose details about its chipset, reports suggest that it has a Unisoc Tiger T618 chipset. The current chipset replaces the Snapdragon 662 chip used in the previous Tab A7.
The biggest upgrade in the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is its increased display size. Improving from Tab A7’s 10.4-inch display with 15:9 aspect ratio, the newer model offers more vertical space while using landscape mode with its 10.5-inch TFT display with 16:10 aspect ratio. The tablet also has four Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers for an immersive audio experience.
The Galaxy Tab A8 also features an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The latest model also comes with a screen recorder feature which was missing in its previous models. It also comes with parental controls to help parents provide a safe usage for their children. The tablet is equipped with Samsung’s signature security platform Knox to protect user data.
