For many smartphone shoppers, there are only two brands worth considering—Apple and Samsung. Apple released its iPhone 14 line in September 2022, and Samsung just refreshed its flagship lineup with the Galaxy S23 series in February 2023.

For example, the $899 iPhone 14 Plus, which is about the same size as the S23+, is $100 cheaper. Similarly, Apple's top-of-the-line iPhone 14 Pro Max is available for $100 less than the base Galaxy S23 Ultra.
