Apple has managed to keep the price of the iPhone at bay since the launch of the iPhone X back in 2017. The device launched at a starting price of $999 and it has since been carried forward till the latest iPhone 14 Pro. According to the latest, this year might mark the first time Apple will increase the iPhone 15 Pro price beyond the $1,000 threshold. While the iPhone 14 Pro models are priced the same as its predecessor in the United States, other regions have seen a hike. This year, Apple is potentially planning to increase the price of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, according to information shared by Jeff Pu from Haitong International Securities. The increase in price makes sense since the cost of materials has gone up.
We have previously heard that Apple's iPhone 15 Pro models will feature a titanium finish and Apple will charge a premium price for it. Additionally, the 'Pro' handsets are also rumored to come with a solid-state button layout in contrast to mechanical buttons on the iPhone 15 models. This will further increase the price of the device as more components would be required to make it work. Apple will utilize three Taptic Engines under the solid-state keys for haptic feedback. Lastly, the camera system will be upgraded with a Periscope lens which will further increase the overall cost of manufacturing the device.
Apple will increase the price of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max if plans to retain the profit margins.
