From lukewarm critical reception (at best) to underwhelming sales to its developer Volition being folded into Gearbox, the Saints Row reboot was clearly not the sort of success story that series fans would have been hoping it would be. In the wake of its less-than-stellar launch, however, Volition has continued to put out new content for it, with two expansions having launched over the last couple of months in the form of The Heist and the Hazardous and Doc Ketchum’s Murder Circus.
Previously, it was confirmed that the open world title’s third and final expansion would be out sometime in August, and now, it’s been given a specific release date. It’s been announced that Saints Row’s third expansion, titled A Song of Ice and Dust, will launch on August 8. In addition to new story missions, enemies, and cosmetics, the DLC will also add a new open world district for players to explore.
“When a crippling ambush decimates the Dustlanders, it’s up to fierce rivals Bossonius and Gwendolyn Firebird to join forces and defend The DustFaire from a new foe,” reads Volition’s brief blurb for the DLC.
Saints Row is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
