The Peacock sitcom Rutherford Falls is coming back to screens in June, with some brand new first-look images from season 2 recently revealed. The series revolves around best friends Nathan Rutherford (Helms) and Reagan Wells (Jana Schmieding) who take on work struggles, romance, and daily life in their small town that borders a Native American reservation. The comedy series was co-created by Helms, Sierra Teller Ornelas, and Mike Schur, who has worked on some of the most beloved modern sitcoms such as The Good Place, Parks and Recreation, The Office, and the recently-concluded Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
At the end of Rutherford Falls season 1, Nathan learned troubling news about his lineage that left him reeling, and he left Rutherford Falls to do some soul searching. Now, in a few new season 2 images shared by AV Club, Helms' Nathan is seen returning to his hometown. In the new Rutherford Falls images, it seems that Nathan will help to his pal Reagan deal with the daunting task of running the Minishonka Nation's cultural center, and with complicated casino CEO Terry Thomas (Michael Greyeyes). The images show Nathan and Reagan bonding, as well as sharing a good-natured picnic with Nathan's endearingly obsessed assistant, Bobbie Yang (Jesse Leigh), in Rutherford Falls season 2.
