The finale of the Elder God War saga has arrived. Today’s update for RuneScape sees the addition of Extinction, a new quest. It is the first grandmaster difficulty quest that has been added since Sliske’s Endgame in 2016. This three-hour quest tells the epic conclusion of the Elder God Wars story that has been developer Jagex’s primary focus since the start of last year.
Extinction’s trailer provides some insight into what players can expect before they take on the quest. However, the Elven goddess Seren has finally given up on the plan and has resorted to desperate measures to save the world. It’s up to you to try and stop her.
Unsurprisingly, given its Grandmaster difficulty, Extinction has some steep requirements. A total of 11 quests and mini-quests will have to be completed beforehand to unlock it. Furthermore, completion of Sliske’s Endgame, One of a Kind, and Sins of the Father, is advised to fully comprehend the story.
Completing Extinction will reward four experience lamps worth 175,000 XP each that can be used in any of RuneScape‘s 28 skills. Additionally, players will gain access to the Dream of Iaia. This is a new skilling area filled with high-tier resources for Construction, Crafting, Fishing, Fletching, Herblore, and Hunter. This area also provides a new use for gathered Anachronia base camp resources.

Some developers at Jagex have already touched upon the idea of a fifth boss coming to The Elder God Wars. This mysterious fifth
