2022 is becoming a promising year for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, especially in regard to video games. Earlier this year Konami announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, a compilation of over 10 games from the series' history in video games consisting of beat-em-up and fighting games, and fans are still eagerly anticipating Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, an original new title from developer Tribute Games. While it's been well over a year since the announcement of Shredder's Revenge, it appears the game is finally gearing up to release very soon.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge was first announced in March 2021, where it was revealed that Streets of Rage 4 publisher Dotemu is teaming up with Mercenary Kings and Panzer Paladin developer Tribute Games to create a brand new TMNT beat-em-up in the style of the classic 1980s arcade games developed by Konami. The game is based on the 80s TMNT cartoon as opposed to recent reboots such as the 2012 series and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and features all four turtles as playable characters alongside side characters like Master Splinter and April O'Neil. It was later revealed that the voice actors from the cartoon will be returning to reprise their roles for the game.

Now, as the summer approaches and events like Summer Game Fest are coming soon, it appears that the game is prepared to release sooner than fans expect.
