Halo Infinite is slowly edging towards its second season of content, but many of its core features, such as co-operative campaign multiplayer, are still pending. While more updates and content releases are already planned for the near and far future, it seems inevitable that developer 343 Games has a few tricks up its sleeve as well.
One of these tricks may, in fact, be a reintroduction of Halo 5's classic Warzone multiplayer, albeit in an altered format, with some elements of modern battle royale titles added on top. Namely, a recentHalo Infinite leak has revealed a work-in-progress match modifier menu that hides a number of curious Warzone-like features, among other things.
Halo Infinite Patch Improves First-Person Animations
While major gaming personalities have already been leaking heaps of information about the purported Halo Infinite battle royale mode, there's been no official announcement from 343 of any sort, nor were there any real indications that there was work being done on such a mode in the first place. HaloHub's photographs clearly show a Halo Infinite mode modifier menu with a variety of Warzone-themed options, including the ability to respawn via drop pods, containment zone toggles, and more.
It's worth pointing out that Halo 5's Warzone mode doesn't have all that much to do with the more popular Call of Duty: Warzone. In Halo, Warzone was a special PvPvE game mode where two teams of up to 12 players competed against one another in capturing bases, taking down enemies (bots and otherwise), and destroying energy cores. The initial Halo Infinite battle royale leaks suggested campaign connections of some sort, though there's no telling if that's what's being shown off with these latest leaks.
