A demo of offered during Steam Next Fest has provided new insight into the upcoming title, demonstrating its unique combination of mechanics and Norse mythology. Set in a post-Ragnarok world, the city builder is a mash-up of roguelike gameplay and card-based mechanics that players will utilize as they attempt to nurture the World Tree Yggdrasil back to life. comes from developer ManaVoid, which previously released the puzzle-platformer .
The roguelike game loop of centers around going out on city building expeditions and then returning to the game's hub, called The Holt. The Holt is the home of Yggdrasil and the only place that remains following Ragnarok, and players will need to bring back supplies from expeditions in order to nurture the tree back to health and restore life to the Nine Worlds. Although the demo version of The Holt doesn't yet include all of its planned locations, there are still several things that can be done to impact future runs there.

The characters helping the player on this quest in also reside in The Holt and help run its various buildings, with the two available in the demo both offering different forms of skill trees. Rather than skill trees that target varied playstyles, 's are more about expanded construction opportunities: Lif's Greenhouse, where players can unlock things like new biomes, and Thrasir's Workshop, which contains buildings that can be redeemed with blueprints for future expeditions. Players will also receive helpful tips from Sunna and Ratatoskr, other figures from Norse mythology.
