In SpongeBob and Patrick have once again created problems for themselves and all of Bikini Bottom through poor decision-making skills. Finally, a fortune-teller gives them a vial of wish-granting mermaid tears, and SpongeBob and Patrick proceed to rip portals through space and time. Cosmic Jelly is a byproduct of these rifts or WishWorlds that SpongeBob collects as he adventures through worlds to rescue his friends from the dangers he created.
Collecting Cosmic Jelly is often similar to the ring system of Sonic, the decades-running franchise. The Jelly can float in the air, forcing players to execute aerial maneuvers as they traverse the different worlds. In addition, Cosmic Jelly can be obtained by defeating mobs or even farming it infinitely.

Collecting Jelly through exploring is intuitive because it's visible and often leads to important locations in a direct line, the same with collecting it through defeating mobs. The first spot to farm infinite Jelly in Cosmic Shake is in Karate Downtown Bikini Bottom. The infinite farming, featured in a video by YouTuber Cheetah's Guides, happens through hitting dumpsters.
The first dumpster is in Karate Downtown Bikini Bottom near the Back Lot checkpoint. A dumpster, similar to the one where SpongeBob and Patrick learned curse words, is behind the trailer that is visible when players first load in. Hitting the dumpster will give two Jelly per hit, and players can hit it for as long as their patience allows them to. Another dumpster is located in the same region at the Parking Lot checkpoint. Hitting it will also give two Jelly infinitely.
