RoboCop: Rogue City gets a new gameplay trailer and release window for September 2023

Earlier today, publisher Nacon hosted its latest Nacon Connect live stream showcasing several of its upcoming releases. Clocking in at about half an hour, the live stream concluded with a new trailer for developer Teyon’s RoboCop: Rogue City. Notably, this trailer unveiled a new RoboCop: Rogue City release window of September 2023, so those interested in the gamecan anticipate that month.

Originally, Teyon wanted to release this latest take on the RoboCop IP around three months from now on June 2023. But with this latest trailer, the developer has subtly confirmed that it will take a few more months before players can fully experience the game.

Lasting a little under two minutes, the new RoboCop trailer contains lengthy clips of the titular character trudging through a dank arcade. At one point, he comes across an NPC in the bathroom who informs him of a group of staff members selling drugs in the arcade’s basement. Once RoboCop goes to check it out, he quickly ends up in a tense firefight with the drug dealers. Unsurprisingly, RoboCop manages to gun down all of them in quite a merciless fashion.

According to the trailer’s description, RoboCop: Rogue City more or less follows the basic plot of the original 1987 movie. Set in an alternate Detroit, the game sees “the city [lying] on the edge of ruin, people fighting for scraps as others live extravagant lives of luxury.” A corporation called Omni Consumer Products takes ownership of the Detroit Police Department to deal with the city’s rampant crime. Created by the OCP, RoboCop goes to carry out the corporation’s goals, at least at first.
