The winners for the 2022 BAFTA Games Awards have been announced, and Housemarque’s Returnal took home the top prize. Alongside the PlayStation 5 exclusive, several other stars of 2021 added more trophies to their collection tonight.
Returnal leads the pack with wins in Best Game, Best Music, Audio Achievement, and Performer in a Leading Role for Jane Perry. It Takes Two and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart took home two BAFTAs apiece. Unpacking also took home two, thanks to the publicly voted EE Game of the Year award.
The indies made a strong showing tonight, though. Chicory: A Colorful Tale, Inscryption, Before Your Eyes, TOEM, Unpacking, and The Artful Escape all won awards. And No Man’s Sky received recognition for its continuous growth, winning the Evolving Game category.
The 2022 BAFTA Games Awards were held in London and streamed out over Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook. You can find a Twitch VOD of the awards show here.
